Clifford Weir

Artist
Clifford Weir grew up in the County Antrim village of Portglenone. He has always had a keen interest in art, even at an early age. Although he’s always had such an interest in art, as luck would have it, art wasn’t a subject he was taught in school, but in the early nineties his wife Bernie booked him some tuition with Randalstown artist, Paul Jordan, which he found very informative and has been painting ever since, whenever he has the chance.
Like a lot of people who grew up in the sixties, he has a great interest in a wide variety of music and always has it playing whether he’s working or painting. He says music gives inspiration to whatever he’s painting, whether it’s a landscape or something more contemporary. It creates a mood and helps develop whatever is on the canvas, but he says home life with his wife and family plays a great part in inspiring everything he does.
Recently Clifford has been devoting more time to his paintings and is currently increasing his portfolio. Clifford Weir has had works shown in several art exhibitions and his popularity is increasing as a local artist.
